Within a few days, the team’s vehicles and buses get recolored in yellow and blue — the colors of the national flag of Kazakhstan. Sketches of a new form are also designed in the shortest possible time. Thus, a new star, a new team is born in the international cycling.

Alexander Vinokourov becomes the captain of the team

The team continues to win — in 2007 the team won overall standings of Tirreno — Adriatico, individual stages of Giro d'Italia, Tour de Romandie and prestigious race of Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré where three stages were won by Kazakhstani racers Alexander Vinokourov and Maxim Iglinskiy.

A total of 30 victories was scored by the team.

This helps to overcome the deep financial crisis in the team and to focus on new achievements.

By the end of the season, Valentin Iglinskiy wins the tropical race Tour of Hainan in China.

In 2010, the team scored a total of 20 wins.

Alexander Vinokourov returns to the team

His departure would have sent Astana to the last place in the world rankings, which jeopardized the team getting the license for next year. Vinokourov announces his return to the big cycling, and his points allow the team to get the license.

Gradually recovering, he starts the season modestly, with appearances in Malaysia, in Tour of Turkey, Dauphine Libere. A few days after the Tour de France, Alexander Vinokourov wins a splendid victory in the group road race and brings the first gold medal for Kazakhstan.
